Bryan–College Station has never seen anything quite like this artsy homage to the funky Chihuahuan Desert town that gives the restaurant its name. The foodie culture of the West Texas enclave is likewise reflected in the unique, albeit limited, menu offerings. Chicken-fried steak? They’re a dime a dozen here. But our chicken-fried at Marfa’s sported a crisp pistachio-based crust topped with jalapeño gravy. It was divine. The burger was likewise a wise selection, featuring not only a savory bison patty but a generous helping of juicy crawfish. Though it likely wouldn’t best your grandmother’s, MTK’s rich chocolate sheet cake nevertheless proved to be the perfect way to end a properly Texan meal.
