Kristen Steenbeeke joined the staff as an assistant editor at Texas Monthly in early 2023. She has previously copyedited for novels, nonfiction books, journals, and political campaigns. A graduate of the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, she has had her poetry published by more than twenty journals. She spent some time growing up in Sugar Land, Texas, and now lives in Austin.
