It’s no secret that the quality of golf—and those who play it—in the Lone Star State is superb. Well, it just got a little better.

The PGA of America, one of the world’s largest sports organizations composed of more than 29,000 PGA of America Golf Professionals, relocated to Frisco, Texas in 2022 and created a golf wonderland dubbed PGA Frisco.

Whether you’ve played golf your whole life or are just getting started, PGA Frisco has everything you need. If you’re looking to lower your scores and be taught by world-class experts, the PGA of America Coaching Center is your answer.

The two story, 12,000-square-foot Coaching Center combines expert instruction, club fitting and fitness training to create a high-touch, high-tech and data-driven experience that serves golfers of all ages and backgrounds. The facility uses top-of-the-line golf instruction technology such as Trackman, PuttView, Swing Catalyst and more to provide students the best pathway to learn and improve.

It’s the Association’s only state-of-the-art, consumer-facing coaching and training facility. It provides a wonderful opportunity for Texans, and those staying at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort, to receive world-class instruction from expert PGA of America Golf Professionals.

Leading the operation is PGA Master Professional Tim Cusick, who was hired as the PGA Head Coach to develop, open and operate the facility. A 35-year PGA of America Member, Cusick spent 16 years as Director of Golf Instruction of The Four Seasons Golf and Sports Club in Irving, Texas, before joining the PGA of America staff. Joining him are long-time teachers Ryan Hitt, PGA, and Pablo del Olmo, PGA. Together, their mission is to make a complicated game more enjoyable.

“The PGA Coaching Center will serve as yet another touch point between the PGA of America and golfers of all abilities searching for more enjoyment from the game,” said Cusick, who was recently named to Golf Magazine’s “2024-2025 Top 100 Teachers in America” list.

More often than not, golfers looking to improve their abilities turn to a PGA Coach. Cusick, del Olmo and Hitt provide decades of coaching and instructing experience to their students at the first-class facility.

“The Coaching Center will stand as a shining example of the PGA of America’s mission to serve its Members and grow the game,” Cusick added. “By implementing our PGA of America Coaching Philosophy, providing access to the industry’s best equipment and training and allowing our expert coaches to guide people through their own golf journey, PGA Frisco visitors can benefit from the game like never before.”

The Coaching Center is designed to not only provide one-on-one golf instruction, but also corporate outings, group golf clinics and more. del Olmo, Lead Coach over adult group programming, comes from The Woodlands Country Club in The Woodlands, Texas, where he spent 12 years teaching. Between 1999 and 2006, he competed on the Asian PGA, European, Canadian and Mexican Golf Tours. He also represented Mexico in three World Cups (2002, ‘04, ‘05) and is a former National Golf Coach for the Mexican Golf Federation.

Hitt is the Lead Coach of junior golf programming. In eight years at the Trophy Club Country Club in Trophy Club, Texas, Hitt gave more than 8,500 hours of instruction. He has a passion for junior golf and serves on the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Committee, devoted to improving the junior golf experience in north Texas.

The Coaching Center is a global hub and laboratory to develop and foster the PGA of America Coaching Philosophy, which utilizes the American Development Model for Golf and provides an organic connection to the more than 29,000 PGA of America Golf Professionals across the nation.

The American Development Model is a joint effort between the United States Olympic Committee and its National Governing Bodies of sport to apply long-term athlete development principles. In short, when you visit the PGA Coaching Center you won’t just leave with a couple swing tips, you’ll leave knowing how to have fun playing golf, how to develop a lifelong love of the game and how to excel in golf through increased knowledge and skill.

Adjacent to the new Home of the PGA of America, the PGA of America Coaching Center’s proximity to the Monument Realty PGA District, the Omni PGA Frisco Resort and the Fields Ranch East and West Courses furthers the experience for community members and golf enthusiasts turning to the game for recreation and family enjoyment.
